Today is the start of the 24th annual Nevada Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Relay Run. On April 30th, 2024, the Sparks Police Department will proudly partner with other law enforcement agencies across the state to honor Nevada peace officers who were killed in the line of duty. The run will begin at Police Memorial Park in Las Vegas and end at the Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Carson City. In total, the run lasts nine days and is approxiamtely 447 miles long. Each baton has the name of a Nevada fallen officer, which as of 2024, is 157 names. The purpose of the run is to honor and bring attention to start National Police Memorial Week which will occur in mid-May. 📸 Sparks PD #sparks #nevada #carsoncity
