Firefighters Recuse Dog Trapped Under Van 🐾 Per TMFPD: “On Thursday, #TMFR Firefighters responded to a very unusual call. While a service technician was working inside a local residence, a lost and scared puppy ran under his parked van and climbed up into the undercarriage getting itself stuck. The technician was alerted by a passerby that a dog had run under the van and had not come out. He ensured that the vehicle was off and would not move so as not to injure the puppy and called for help. Engine 44 ( Stead) found that the dog had attempted to crawl up onto the rear axle getting itself into a position where careful extrication would be needed as movement of the suspension components could crush him. Our crew worked cooperatively with Washoe County regional animal services and was able to free the stuck pup who was not injured.
