“This was one of the most exhilarating images I had photographed in Tahoe. With afternoon thunderstorms in the forecast I ventured out into the wind and rain in hopes of capturing some lightning and rainbows. Arriving at this location, I endured a substantial heavy rain storm for almost an hour. The usual crowds of people all went running for their cars and shelter. As the storm cell moved to the east the sun popped out through the clouds reveling a rainbow and creating some unique foggy clouds. I dialed in this composition of the trees and rainbow. Once I got that image I could hear thunder in the distance. I decided to go all in and set up a lightning trigger on my camera, with a double exposure dialed into my camera, then I waited and prayed for a bolt of lighting. To my surprise about 30 minutes later a large series of lightning bolts and thunder exploded directly overhead and one the bolts triggered the camera to complete this image “Thunderstruck”” #tahoe #laketahoe
